Best 18650 Battery at pulsed loads of 70W per battery (140W with two batteries)

Posted by Jonathan Caserta on

After last week's test results on 0.2 ohm constant resistance testing (like that found in an e-cig mechanical mod), many readers wanted to know how a regulated device would compare.  Unlike mechanical mods, regulated devices use a constant power output instead of a constant resistance load.  This changes things some.  So here are some results for some of the best batteries. The Contestants Just like last time, the batteries under test are the Samsung 25R  (full part number INR18650-25R), the Sony VTC4 (also known as VCT4, full part number US18650VTC4), and the Sony VTC5 (also known as VCT5. full part number US18650VTC5).  The...

Best 18650 battery at 0.2 ohm or 16-21A pulsed loads

Posted by Jonathan Caserta on

One question we get particularly from the e-cig crowd is which battery will show less voltage sag and perform better under pulses at a specific ohm level, for example in a mechanical mod device.  The results are very applicable to someone using a regulated (constant watts) device as well.  So we decided to do a comparison test of the voltage drop under this significant constant resistance load of 0.2 ohms, comparing the Samsung 25R vs Sony VTC4 vs Sony VTC5.

Best batteries for cloud chasers or super high current: Sony VTC4 vs Efest 2100mAh 38A vs Efest 2100mAh 30A test results

So there's a new Efest 38A 2100 mAh battery on the block, I thought I'd do a comparison between it and the older 30A version from Efest, along with the VTC4 which is our current most recommended battery for the cloud chaser or someone that needs high current in the 20-35A range.  Pics of the batteries, and lots of charts and data are within!
