When I was growing up I used to have a antique flashlight that took 2x "D" cells and had a DOME lens on the face of it. It made for a beam pattern that had the same brightness across a circle (or at a angle) oval on whatever it was shined on. I had never seen anything like it before or after until I came across this flashlight. Fixed over a decently bright OLED element is a DOME that creates the same kind of beam pattern. Even better this one can ZOOM in/out a bit Frankly IDK how hard/soft it is on batteries as I've not had or used it for very long. After getting one I liked it so well I bought two more.
